Welcome to our site. Survive the Encounter was created to provide detailed training to persons of all skill levels who want more than the average firearm training class. You will be provided safe training focused on the real life skills needed carry a concealed handgun and to win a use of force encounter. We can’t wait to see you at Survive the Encounter, LLC!
THE INSTRUCTOR
SURVIVE THE ENCOUNTER is operated by Rick Niles, who worked in federal law enforcement for 28 years, and has been a firearms and response tactics instructor for 26 years. During his years of service in the federal system Rick has trained extensively on the deployment of handguns from concealed carry situations. Rick is currently the firearms instructor a the local community college Police Science Program and is a certified U.S. Concealed Carry Association concealed carry instructor.
RANGE NIGHT
If you have a weapon and want a couple hours of individual training, I do Wednesday night training room/live fire training at The Yards indoor range. Bring your handgun and ammo and we will work for a couple hours. This is no pressure training, I will watch you shoot and give ideas on how to better your shooting skills. Send me an email to schedule a time and date.
TRAINING

Given my commitments in other aspects of my professional life, I am no longer scheduling or posting training dates. Instead, I would ask that, if you are truly interested in professional training on developing your handgun and safety skills, to email me and we can set up a time to train which fits into your schedule.

I will continue to do group training, if you have up to 10 persons who would like to do the Firearm Fundamentals and Home Defense course or would like a modified training course created to meet your needs.
Additionally, if you have family gatherings, or want to do something fun and interesting with friends or co-workers, I will tailor a couple hours training for you.
